Hypericum is a medicinal herb, wildflower, and ornamental berry that is also known as Saint John's Wort. It is known as a wound healer, for easing nerve pain, for boosting the immune system, and as a nerve tonic.
At Hypericum we believe in natural healing. We are dedicated to educating and inspiring our clients, empowering them to make nutrition and lifestyle choices that truly nourish them. We take a holistic approach with an emphasis on whole foods in order to meet and exceed the individual health goals of our clients.
Lisa Streetsmith, founder of Hypericum, certified Health Counselor, and Cooking Coach, helps clients sort through conflicting nutrition advice and supports them as they learn to interpret the signals their own body gives about how to nourish themselves. Special attention is given to identifying the foods and practices that maximize each person's capacity for an extraordinary life. Lisa's clients have found increased energy and vitality and have seen their bodies move toward their natural, ideal weight. At Hypericum we guide clients in their search for the clarity and freedom that true health brings.
Lisa is pleased to see clients at The Therapy Center at Doylestown, a practice that includes practitioners whose specialties include massage for women struggling with negative body image and therapy and support groups for new mothers in their 40's.
For the past two years Lisa has been partnering with Patricia M. Brody, M.A. Psychotherapist to develop and deliver the What are You Hungry For? Workshop. More recently we began an ongoing group for the purpose of supporting women who are overcoming emotional eating. We are in the process of producing a Meditation CD to be used as a tool for eating and living mindfully.
Prior to founding Hypericum, Lisa had a successful career as a project manager and corporate trainer. She is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and the Institute for Integrative Nutrition. She holds a certificate in Integrative Nutrition from the Teachers College at Columbia University and is board certified by the American Association of Drugless Practitioners. Taste-testing of recipes is done by her husband and two young children.
Available services include individual and group health counseling, cooking classes, cooking and wellness parties, and workshops.
